Jack’s Director of Practice Assurance at TC Group, and a ACA Chartered Accountant with a background in commercial audit.
Neil Stevens
Partner
Having grown up in St Just, Neil joined TC Bromhead in 2008. Neil has a varied portfolio of clients and can provide advice across all aspects of accountancy and tax. Neil enjoys working with socially conscious and ambitious organisations – particularly in digital, tech, and charitable sectors.
Michelle Cameron
Partner
Michelle’s Plymouth born and bred. On leaving school she joined TC Bromhead and in 2000 qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor securing a distinction and indeed also a prize for the highest mark nationally in one of the papers.
Michelle has extensive experience and works for a wide range of clients within TC Bromhead providing practical business & taxation advice.
James Groves
Partner
James joined TC Bromhead in 1998 and became a Partner in 2000. He acts for a wide range of clients, especially numerous solicitors and dentists. James enjoys providing practical business advice to enhance profitability and ensure taxation burdens are minimised.
Gemma Redmond
Practice Director
Having grown up in Plymouth, Gemma joined TC Bromhead in 2002 as an AAT apprentice. She later qualified as a Chartered Accountant and held a client manager position for many years. Gemma’s now TC Bromhead’s Practice Director, and is responsible for staffing, systems, and training.
Getting to grips with a new system and improving the practice is what she really loves to do! Relationships are key to her career and she enjoys coaching the team and working with clients whilst watching their businesses grow.
Kate Howitt
Associate Partner
Kate’s been a qualified accountant for nearly 20 years and gained fellowship status with the ACCA in 2004. She previously worked for a FTSE100, heading up corporate finance and working as a key member of the leadership and management team at strategy level.
Kate’s a self confessed accounting nerd and her attention to detail allows her to tax plan for her clients in a highly efficient manner, optimising their individual situations.
Her style of working is to get to know her clients and their businesses in detail so she can help them plan for the future taking into account the wider picture.
Liam Davies
Associate Partner
Liam’s an Associate Partner in our Portsmouth office and joined TC Group in 2015. He works with owner managed businesses across various different industries.
Matthew Archer
Senior Manager Audit
Matt’s a Senior Manager in the TC Knill James Audit and Assurance team. Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 2019, and been an audit manager since 2020, he has overseen numerous audits of owner-managed businesses for small, medium and large companies and groups with turnover ranging up to £145m.
With the significant experience gained across a wide variety of industries, including leisure, construction, renewable energy and motor vehicles franchises, he enjoys advising clients on the more technically complex areas of financial accounting.
Lauren Empringham
Audit Manager
Lauren’s a Manager in the Audit and Assurance team and is responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients, including corporates and those in the Not-For-Profit sector.
Having trained at TC Knill James, she has experience across a wide range of industries and uses this knowledge to support both her clients and colleagues within the firm. Lauren also jointly manages our ACA training programme, facilitating the learning and development of the firm’s trainee Chartered Accountants.
Michael Williams
Senior Manager Corporate Tax
Michael’s a Senior Manager specialising in Corporation Tax matters and more complex projects as part of Corporate Finance transactions.
He has significant experience in a broad range of tax services, including compliance, advisory and tax accounting and assists clients ranging from large groups of companies and inbound subsidiaries to owner managed businesses.
In addition to Corporate Tax, Michael advises on employment tax issues, including the off-payroll working (IR35) rules.
Kirsty Royds-Jones
Senior Manager Personal Tax
Kirsty’s a Senior Personal Tax Manager with over 25 years’ experience in Private Client Tax. She provides expert advice on a range of personal taxation issues, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Trust, and Estate Taxation.
As a Chartered Tax Adviser, Kirsty brings a detailed and nuanced understanding to her work, ensuring each client receives personalised and effective tax advice.
Steven Thomson
Senior Manager Business Hub
Senior Manager of TC Knill James’ Business Hub, Steven has over 20 years’ experience working with Owner-Managed Businesses and UK subsidiaries of overseas businesses, successfully advising and supporting them to achieve their goals.
A systems advisory expert, Steven also provides guidance to clients on the implementation of new technologies to refine existing systems, processes, and controls, ensuring these continue to meet the evolving needs of the business as it grows and develops.
Alex Robinson
Senior Manager Business Hub
Alex is a Senior Manager of TC Knill James’ Business Hub. With over a decade of experience in private practice, Alex boasts a deep understanding of financial statements, bookkeeping, and management accounting.
He’s successfully guided clients in a wide range of sectors, including charities and education, farming, professional services, property, and retail.
