Our London (West End) office have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager to join the team.
Reporting directly to the Partner and managing one other person, key responsibilities include:
- assuming responsibility and taking a proactive role in the management of a portfolio of personal tax clients and controlling the completion of work arising from those clients
- preparing more complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
- assisting partners with specialist tax consultancy projects
- assisting with the compliance for other taxes including forms P11D, basic corporation tax matters, forms 42 and EMI40s
- regular liaison with HM Revenue and Customs, clients and the accounts department
- assisting the tax managers and tax directors with technical advisory projects and research
- providing administrative support for tax projects and compliance work
- preparing VAT registrations
- reviewing accounts for tax compliance and planning opportunities
- dealing with client queries as and when they arise
- managing own flow of work and mentoring junior staff
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- 10-15 years’ experience of preparing tax returns and managing a tax portfolio in an accountancy practice
- CTA qualified or qualified by experience
- experience of using CCH tax software
- good IT skills and understanding of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
- excellent client relationship skills and the ability to nurture existing clients as well as the ability to help develop new business
- ability to demonstrate technical breadth
- ability to explain complex tax issues in plain English for all levels of understanding
- the ability to prioritise high volumes and work to strict timescales where required
- proactive, motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- commercial acumen and dedication to building a strong firm
- detail orientated with the ability to demonstrate drive and initiative
A generous remuneration package includes:
- £55-£75,000 depending on experience and qualifications
