We have an excellent career opportunity for an Accounts and Tax Client Manager which could develop into a Senior management role for the right individual.

Joining the recently merged Portishead (West Bristol) office, the main focus of the role will be to manage the Personal, Corporate tax and accounts affairs of a portfolio of clients and to provide tax support to the accounts and audit team.  Key responsibilities will be:

  • assuming responsibility for a portfolio of clients and controlling the management and completion of work arising from these clients to include personal and corporate tax returns and the review of accounts for Sole trader, partnerships and limited companies.
  • hands on role taking a proactive role in the management of a portfolio of clients
  • undertaking ad-hoc projects to include: company valuations, company reorganisations, acquisitions and sales, dealing with HM Revenue and Customs enquiries and investigation work, establishment of share option schemes and preparation of specific tax advice and reports
  • R & D Tax Credit work
  • organising workload to ensure an efficient and timely service is provided to clients
  • reviewing corporate tax returns prepared by junior members of the team
  • liaising with the accounts and audit team to obtain necessary information and to meet any required deadlines
  • liaising with HM Revenue and Customs and clients
  • promoting the development of colleagues and the firm

We are looking for candidates with the following knowledge and experience:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, ATT
  • CTA desirable or PQ at final exam stage
  • minimum 5 years post qualified experience in practice
  • career aspirations to develop into a Senior management role in the next 3 years
  • potential for Partner Designate role 5 years+
  • significant experience in private, corporate tax and accounts
  • knowledge of various accounts packages Sage/ Xero etc
  • knowledge of general VAT advice/CIS
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate excel skills as a minimum.

  • must have own car and full driving licence
