We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Accounts Assistant in our Bournemouth office.  Key responsibilities are:

  • processing weekly and monthly client payrolls
  • processing day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts
  • dealing with client queries as and when they arise
  • managing own work flow
  • VAT returns
  • providing training to clients on various packages and bookkeeping skills as required
  • supporting colleagues with accounts work when required
  • dealing with payroll queries and answering queries from clients and our internal teams via email and telephone
  • communicating with HMRC on payroll matters
  • assisting with pension reporting and maintaining pension data for payroll clients

Knowledge & Experience:

  • minimum of C (or equivalent) in Maths and English at GCSE
  • A Levels
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate excel skills as a minimum
  • excellent IT skills
  • highly personable with excellent communication skills
  • team player with strong work ethic
  • resilient and can take constructive feedback, reflect and improve themselves proactively
