We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts and Tax Technician predominantly based in our Farnham office, however hybrid working is available following initial induction. Ideally on a full time basis, although we will consider part time alternatives for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities are:
- managing day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts
- arranging monthly management accounts for clients and detailed year end reconciled information to the statutory accounts team
- ability to review management accounts and VAT returns preferable
- reviewing client entries and advising of corrections or efficiency improvements
- preparing and filing VAT returns for various VAT schemes
- preparing self-assessment tax returns and 30 day CGT returns, including capital gains computations and preparation of P11ds
- providing technical tax assistance to non-tax staff
- communicating directly with HMRC when necessary, undertaking general administration tasks
- providing training to clients on various packages and bookkeeping skills as required
The Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- minimum 2-3 years post qualified experience within an accountancy practice
- AAT qualified as a minimum, ideally AAT and ATT qualified
- ability to work both independently, direct liaison with clients, as well as part of a team in both a supporting and supervising capacity
- positive team player with a “can do” attitude
- accurate data entry skills with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- experience with CCH would be advantageous
- excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- passionate about great service in order to provide a high level of client care
